Their your advice out was correct. Those negative "tactics" are things everyone has used with people they care about. Your advice linked them as only being tools of the manipulator, which isn't the case. Good people , guilt, and every other negative thing you listed. Often times those negative things are used to bring something to a person they care about attention when x thing that's bothering them goes unnoticed. If it's the case that only the manipulator uses these and there exists no good people who do, then everyone I care deeply for is a great manipulator and terrible person. my grandma would be some evil fucking genius. However, I knew when my grandma would use an guilt trip for instance it wasn't manipulation, it was because I hadn't seen her in awhile. It brought it to my attention, and I'd make sure to find time to go out and see her. Your follow-up clarifies what you meant, that is, if you also put those negative "tactics" within the sphere of influence. Otherwise I guess I like and love terrible people.
