Here's the catch. For the New Testament to be true, the Old Testament MUST be true but if the Old Testament is true the New Testament CANNOT be true. In the Old Testament you have God speaking to men. In the New Testament you have men telling you what God said. Marriage isn't part of scripture, nor is divorce. Marriage is an institution based on the understanding of scripture, "a shall go from his parents and cleave to his wife". "Husband" and "wife" are arbitrary concepts which needn't be limited to "-" and "woman" in the same way that "president" or "doctor" needn't be limited to just the masculine gender.
